As well as knowing the rules there are also a number of important practical considerations when following Kosher practices. For example, when shopping, many stores stock Kosher items but these items are mixed in with the non Kosher stock, how do you tell the difference? Another thing to consider is that Kosher is not just about the ingredients, there are rules governing the preparation of Kosher meals which could effect your behaviour in the kitchen. Also because availability of Kosher items is sometimes limited, storage of food can become more important than it otherwise would.
