Kosher Australia Press Release September 2004
Statement from SPC-Ardmona: "Recent changes to production lines and the introduction of new products has led to diced 425g fruits and all retail tomato products no longer being Kosher certified. These products are packed under a number of different labels, as per the notification from Kosher Australia. Products manufactured at our Mooroopna plant are still Kosher certified, and are packed under the same labels as those listed in the Kosher Bulletin. To distinguish between Shepparton non-Kosher and Mooroopna Kosher products, consumers need to examine the code printed on the can. Product from Shepparton will have an inked code with 'E29' in it. Product from Mooroopna is either physically stamped or, if it does have an inked code, will not say 'E29'. Mooroopna product may be marked as 'E31'.
SPC Ardmona apologises for the inconvenience this will cause customers seeking Kosher products. We are working with Kosher Australia to implement processes that will allow re-certification of our fruit and tomato products as soon as possible, however this will not happen until next year, at the earliest." |
